Are Goring & Streatley In Transition?
WHAT IS A TRANSITION TOWN/CITY/VILLAGE
A transition initiative is a community that is unleashing its own latent collective genius to look peak oil and climate change squarely in the eye and implement ways to address this big question. “ For all those aspects of life that this community needs in order to sustain itself and thrive, how do we significantly increase resilience (to mitigate the effects of peak oil) and drastically reduce carbon emissions (to mitigate the effects of climate change). The resulting coordinated range of projects across all these areas of life leads to a collectively designed energy descent pathway. The community also recognises two crucial points;
That we have used immense amounts of creativity, ingenuity and adaptability on the way up the energy upslope.
That there is no reason for us not to do the same on the downslope. If we collectively plan and act early enough there’s every likelihood that we can create a way of living that’s significantly ,more connected, more vibrant and more in touch with our environment than the oil-addicted treadmill that we find our selves on to day

I've helped hundreds of companies increase their traffic and I'd love to show you what my service can do for you. I don't promise the world, I'm straight forward and to the point ... I deliver rankings. My rates are completely affordable and I don't want to oversell you either, I start small and have my clients begging for more. I won't take on your site unless I know I can deliver rankings. Reply to this e-mail if you have the slightest interest ... you'll never see rankings the same way again.

I was wondering why there is a £20,000 limit on investment in the hydro scheme as i am sure that there are many investors out there who would be willing to throw money at a scheme like this.
If more than £20k were invested would that legally prevent the group from being a community group/NPO? or would it mean that the group would have to pay corporation tax or alike on the FITS?

Excuse my ignorance, but as you do not state exactly where this project is to be constructed, it would be of interest to know how it would effect leisure boating.

There would be zero effect on the boats as it would be placed on the weir next to the lock, a place where boats do not venture.

I used to have an allotment in Streatley many years ago and was finally defeated by rabbits destroying my fencing and crops (they don't like onions) and the lack of a water supply. If water was laid on I think that they would be very popular.

The Parish Council is revisiting the use of the allotments and is hoping to negotiate their better maintenance and this would include the addition of water.

I had got a desire to make my own organization, but I did not have enough of cash to do it. Thank goodness my close colleague recommended to use the loans. Hence I took the credit loan and realized my dream.

With the price of fuel at an all time high and likely to increase further, could we lift the profile of this page. Perhaps include it in the freebie Goring magazines. A share of lifts to and from the station would be good. There are several cars pulling up for the one passenger.

A village free of plastic bags? Not a new idea, a number of villages in the UK have already taken the initiative. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/wiltshire/7152812.stm, http://www.bbc.co.uk/devon/content/articles/2007/05/01/modbury_plastic_bags_feature.shtml How about banning bottled water, huge amounts of resources are used to extract, package and transport bottled water. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/asia-pacific/8141569.stm
