Car ClubsThis is a featured page

The UK has a commitment to cut carbon emissions and one of the key areas for savings is the reduction in car use. Car clubs have been identified by the UK Energy Research Centre as being able to contribute to those savings. Car clubs are a well established concept throughout the world and there are many in the UK, mainly in urban areas, but a few in rural areas locations. Support and possibly funding for establishing car clubs is available from Carplus, which is the national charity promoting responsible car use (with major funding and support from the Department for Transport).

GSSG has the objective of fostering the use of more sustainable practices and a car club in Goring and Streatley could be one of those practices. Consequently, we have started investigating the feasibility of establishing a car club.
