Car Sharing
As part of our objectives of looking at sustainable solutions for our community we are considering car sharing: both lift sharing and car clubs.
Lift sharing is useful for journeys where two or more people travel regularly to the same work place, or town. Finding lift partners can be helped by an Internet matching service.
A car club is a form of car hire, where a car for personal use is shared between members of the club. The car can be used for as little as half an hour to a day or more. It uses a sophisticated booking system and an in-car computer. The car can be booked in advance or instantly via the Internet or telephone.
