Lift SharingThis is a featured page

Lift sharing is also known as car sharing or ride sharing (not to be confused with car clubs – a form of local short-term hire).

Lift sharing is when two or more people share a car and travel together. One of the people travelling is usually the owner of the vehicle and the other(s) usually make a contribution towards fuel costs. It allows people to benefit from the convenience of the car, whilst alleviating the associated problems of congestion and pollution.

Do you already use lift sharing for:
the school run?
commuting to work?
travelling to events?
Have you organised the lift sharing yourself completely or does your employer help? Have you used a co-ordinating website such as liftshare.com? Can we promote more lift sharing in our community and how? What are your views and experiences?

With the price of fuel at an all time high and likely to increase further, could we lift the profile of this page. Perhaps include it in the freebie Goring magazines. A share of lifts to and from the station would be good. There are several cars pulling up for the one passenger.
Do you find this valuable?
